ABOUT OUR CLUB


The American Eskimo Dog Club of New England was founded in 1979 by a group of people interested in informing the public as to the special qualities of the American Eskimo.

This club is a nonprofit organization, and is on file with the National American Eskimo Dog Association (NAEDA), as well as with the United Kennel Club (UKC), and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
 

MISSION STATEMENT
 

The purpose of this organization shall be to enhance the knowledge in, and the enjoyment of breeding and showing better American Eskimos. To encourage strict breeding programs, to sponsor UKC licensed conformation shows, and rally obedience trials for the comparison of these breeding efforts. For the dissemination of information concerning the American Eskimo and the UKC, and to introduce to the general public the joy of keeping, caring, breeding, grooming, showing, and training of the American Eskimo and other UKC registered breeds of dogs.
 

GENERAL INFORMATION
 

The calendar year for this organization is a period of 12 months: January to December.

Special notices are sent out concerning meetings and information on our annual UKC licensed show(s) or other points of interest concerning the club.

The club holds a total of eight (8) UKC licensed conformation and junior showmanship shows annually (four (4) in June and four (4) in the Fall).  It is approved to offer All-breed Rally Obedience Trials so that members can earn championship points and performance titles on their dogs.

Conformation is open to all breeds unless a judge hired does not hold a license to judge American Eskimos, Belgian Shepherd Dogs, or Toy Fox Terriers.  Shows/Trials are advertised on the UKC website. Rally Obedience Trials are open to all UKC registered breeds, as well as American Kennel Club (AKC) registered breeds currently recognized by the UKC, or have obtained a Temporary Listing number directly from the United Kennel Club.
